Jacob started his acting career in 2016 with the film North Woods. But he gained worldwide recognition and popularity for his role as Ned Leeds, a close friend of Spider-Man, in the Marvel superhero films.

Jacob has appeared in several Marvel movies, including Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

He was born on October 9, 1996, in Honolulu, Hawaii. His parents are Filipino immigrants who moved to the U.S. before he was born. Moreover, he has seven half-siblings from his parent’s previous marriages.

Jacob attended Mother Teresa Catholic School, and Damien Memorial School, in Hawaii. After completing school, he attended Kapi’olani Community College to study music theory.

However, he dropped out after some time and late went to the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts to study acting.

Jacob Batalon Career

He made his film debut in 2016 with the horror film North Woods. In the movie, he played a supporting role as Cooper, a college student who gets trapped in a haunted forest.

Later that year, he auditioned for the role of Ned Leeds in Spider-Man: Homecoming.  After his audition, he was cast in the movie Spider-Man: Homecoming as Peter Parker’s best friend and confidant who helped him fight crime as Spider-Man.

The film was released in 2017 and became a huge success, earning over $880 million worldwide. Moreover, Jacob received positive reviews for his performance in the movie.

Later he reprised his role in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).

Moreover, he also made cameo appearances as Ned Leeds in Iron Man 3 (2013) and Captain Marvel (2019). He is set to return as Ned Leeds in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part One (2022) and Part Two (2023).

Besides the Marvel films, Jacob has also appeared in several other movies and series. In 2019, he appeared in Netflix romantic comedy series Let It Snow.

Later in the same year, he appeared in a comedy movie, The True Don Quixote. In 2020, he appeared in another comedy movie Banana Split.
