What are the Ways to Take Care of Your 3D Printer?

    Replace Accessories

Your device has parts that will need to be replaced over time. All of these essentials deteriorate and lose their capabilities because of continuous usage. To make sure that you have everything that you need when you print your designs, you must have replacement parts that you can use for your printer. These 3d printer accessories are items that you should always have spare stock in order to ensure that your business or your projects will not be halted. This will also make sure that your whole device will not fail because of faulty parts. You should have magnetic metal plates, hotend sets, nozzle kits, and silicone covers, just to name a few.

    Keep your 3D printer lubricated

Another simple step that you can do with your 3D printer is to keep the machine lubricated. This equipment has movable mechanical parts that work smoothly by depending on one another to do their functions. When one fails, all of the other parts fail. This is the reason why you should always lubricate the rods, bearings, lead screws, and other essential parts. You have to make sure to use lubricants that will not deteriorate the metal parts. You may want to consult your 3D printer manual to determine the right lubricant for your equipment.

    Wipe your 3D printer

You should wipe your 3D printer regularly with a microfiber cloth. You need to remove the dust and dirt that may accumulate on your device. Look at the bearings, fans, and the hotend of your device. You will see that over time, they will all collect dust and even cobwebs if not checked. The horizontal parts will gather dust and dirt eventually. To make sure that your 3D printer is clean and does not have any impact on the quality of printing, you should use a cloth to wipe away the dirt on your printer. You can also opt to use canned air to remove dust from those hard-to-reach areas.

    Check the bolts and nuts

Your 3D printer consists of different mechanical parts. Because of regular movement, the bolts and nuts might eventually be loosed over time. This incident may cause your printer to also shake loose. The effect of untightened bolts and nuts is inconsistent printing. To avoid this from happening, you must ensure that all the bolts and nuts are well-tightened. You should also check the pulleys and lead screw couplers are both secured. Not checking these parts may cause you to waste materials and negatively ruin the other parts of the machine as well.

    Conclusion

Since you have invested in your 3D printer, you must do every bit of maintenance that you can for your device so that it will last long and you can use it for your many projects and designs. You need to clean your equipment regularly and buy various 3d printer accessories so that it will not have any malfunctions or failures during operation. You must make sure to follow everything that is listed above and replace parts as needed to guarantee productivity and reduce the waste of materials when you use your 3D printer.
