He was born in 1993 in America. His father’s name is Terry Norton. However, Chris’s mother’s name is not disclosed to him yet. He also had a sister named Alex Norton.
After completing school, Chris attended Luther College Norse, from where he graduated in Business Management. In college, he played football, and he even started his speaking career in college.

Football Career
Chris played as a defensive back in divisional III soccer for the Luther College Norse. However, his career ended in 2010 when during a game against Central College in Decorah, Iowa, he fractured his C3 and C4 vertebrae.
He was instantly taken to Winneshiek Medical Center, where doctors stabilized him for an airlift to the neighboring Mayo Clinic.
At Mayo Clinic, he underwent surgery in which a piece of his hip bone was used to fuse together his C3, C4, and C5 vertebrae.
Before the surgery, doctors gave him a 3% chance of regaining any movement below his neck. The surgery was completed after three hours without any complications.
After the surgery for the initial few days, he couldn’t speak. So he spent another five days in the ICU and was then sent to the rehab for near-daily occupational and physical therapy sessions. He stayed in rehab for the next four months.
After two weeks of the injury, he gained enough hand movements to operate a power steering configuration for an electric wheelchair.
After spending five weeks in rehab, he regained some movement and feeling throughout his upper body. But his body below the waist was still paralyzed.
In May 2011, he moved back to his home from the rehab center. Later on, he returned to college, where he lives with a group of former teammates.
Moreover, his sister Alex also moved close to help him. When he got graduated in Business Management, he walked across the stage to accept his degree.
Non-Profit Organization
In 2012, he and his family founded the SCI CAN Foundation. It is a non-profit organization that raises funds for helping individuals with spinal cord injuries in Iowa and the Midwest.
The foundation hosts annual fundraising dinners and various functions to pay for grants to rehab facilities, hospitals, and individuals. Moreover, till now, the organization has raised more than $600,000.

Chris started his speaking career in college. During college, he traveled around northern Iowa to speak with church groups, college clubs, and local sports teams.
Then eventually, he started giving speeches to corporations and conferences across the country. Later on, he even started his own motivation company Norton Motivation, which is currently based in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
