Debut Years
He made his first-class debut in 1998, at age 19 for Jamaica. After this Gayle played his first One Day International in eleven months later in 1999. Moreover, his first test match 6 months later after One Day International.
He had a slow start in his international career but at the end of 2002, he scored three centuries against India and become the third West Indian to score over 1,000 runs in a year.
